Books on New Orleans
Here is something to get things going...D'Ann, can you recommended a couple of books about New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina, that would be good for a person who knows a little bit about the city and the disaster from the news, but never read any formal histories or city-ographies? Thanks!

I would recommend Voices from the Storm edited by Lola Vollen and Chris Ying; What Lies Beneath: Katrina, Race and the State of the Nation; Come Hell or High Water by Michael Eric Dyson; and The Great Deluge by Douglas Brinkley.
Thanks!
Suzel
